 from my hotel room in hawaii:

the reservation clerk called it a "city view"

which apparently is hotel speak for "you might as well be sleeping outside."

the main boulevard in waikiki was right outside my window,

so it was like trying to sleep on a parade float in mardi gras....

thankfully, i was jet lagged enough that it didn't bother me the first night,

and beautiful enough that it was hard to feel bothered by anything, anyway!
