adventures in TAD

of all the marine corps bases,
there's not too many you could describe as 'garden spots.'

there's yuma, arizona
with arid deserts and scorching temperatures that rival those on mars...

camp lejeune, north carolina
which is a great base to live at,
but is nestled amidst a sea of tattoo parlors, pawn shops, and other less-than-savory joints....

...ahem....if you get my drift.

and 29 palms, california,

which is nicknamed 'twenty-nine stumps'
and that should tell you pretty much everything you need to know about the place.

but there are a few exceptions.
exhibit a: kaneohe bay, hawaii.

i've spent some personal time here,
and now i'm spending some professional time.
but really...
how can i work in these conditions?

shameful, really.
but i'd better get back to the grindstone.
{i'll take my brief by the pool, please....}

I had to giggle because I grew up in 29 Palms! I haven't been there in about 20 years but it's good to know some things don't change.

My sonis stationed at Camp LeJeune (which is just a few hours away from me) but he will soon spend training time at 29 palms as well as Ft Pickett before deployment. I definately know what you mean about LeJeune!
